Concept

In our project, increased man-hours of animation tasks were considered problematic because we had a lot of characters with long clothes and long hair. In addition we had a problem that the quality unification was difficult to be used different free simulation tools by each animator. I created this tool in order to solve these problems and reflect animators’ feedback.

Over View

We can add nHair simulation behavior based on fk animation. The main feature of this tool is to add simulation results like layers, not override them.

Functions

  • Enable adding simulation behavior based on animation made in advance.
  • Enable adjusting simulation behavior from nHair property.
  • Enable manipulating over simulation rigs manually and besides setting collision to enable avoiding each object’s penetration.
  • Enable matching that start pose and end pose of simulated objects.

Achievement

This tool goes down well with animators. Before creating this tool, the motion check submittal was 1 motion per day. But then it became 3 motions a day. What it comes down to is that it enables us to go faster creating secondary animation about 3 times faster than before.
